various counties in California.Compensation We Offer
- The initial compensation for this position ranges from $31.40 -
$38.61 per hour.
- Salary is dependent on commensurate experience above the
minimum qualifications for the role and internal equity
considerations.
- The salary may also vary if you reside in a different location
than the location posted.
- 8% License Differential for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, and select
Peer Certifications.*
- 7.5% Bilingual Differential for qualified positions*

a Mobile Mental Health Evaluation Team that handles psychiatric
emergencies for adults experiencing psychiatric or behavioral
distress. The program includes a crisis hotline, mobile mental
health response, and follow-up services.JOB SUMMARYWorks within the
vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency. Within a team
process, develops a strength-based relationship with clients in the
context of a mental health or behavioral crisis. Intervenes with
individuals presenting with crisis behaviors including but not
limited to agitation, aggression, active psychosis, suicidal
ideation, and/or self-injury. The position requires shift-based
work in which individuals respond to community or Crisis
Stabilization Unit-based crises on immediate emergency requests
from individuals, community partners, law enforcement, or family
members/natural supports. The position may require joint response
with law enforcement officers. Responsible for crisis de-escalation
and stabilization in situations that have the potential for
becoming volatile in nature. Responsible for linking to community
resources and may assist with transitioning/transporting
individuals or youth to the lowest level of care needed. Works
independently in individuals' or youth's homes and in a variety of
community and/or treatment settings. May require certification in
restraint techniques.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- May support mental health crisis hotline by gathering
information, supporting callers, and identifying needs related to
the current crisis situation. Provides crisis assessment and
de-escalation of adults or youth who are experiencing an acute
mental health or behavioral crisis.
- Participates in information gathering and decision making
related to involuntary psychiatric holds as per Lanterman Petris
Short laws and regulations.
- Provides direct billable mental health services, documents in
alignment with MediCal regulations, and achieves set productivity
expectations.
- Engages and supports family members and other natural supports
in the midst of an acute psychiatric crisis.
- Facilitates transport of individuals on 5150 holds including
providing clinical information to accepting hospitals or CSU/other
psychiatric facilities.
- Assists individuals with identifying triggers and unmet needs
that contribute to ongoing acute mental health crisis.
- Provides linkage, referrals, and resources in the community
based on identified needs.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Driving to adults or youth in crisis in the location
identified.
- Position specific duties and responsibilities may vary
depending upon program.
- Performs other responsibilities, as assigned, to support
department/business needs.
- Participates in crisis intervention and de-escalation training
for law enforcement and other community stakeholders.JOB SPECIFIC

- Time management.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully,
an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of
the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology preferred.
- One (1) year experience working in the mental health
field.OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT
- If program requires, employee must pass an initial physical
abilities test (PATS) and be certified in crisis intervention
techniques within the first 30 days and annually.PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year working with children or adults.
- BA/BS in related field preferred.HIGHLY DESIRABLE
QUALIFICATIONS
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to write and speak in a
grammatically correct manner required.
- Speak, read, and/or write another language is highly
desirable.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust remain physically fit enough to
keep children and self-safe. The employee is required to perform
physical tasks when needed, including standing, walking, sitting,
using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing stairs, stooping,
kneeling, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25
